The Polyamory Flag

The new polyamory pride flag was created by Red Howell and selected in a community-wide vote of over 30k members. Howell waived all copyright and related neighboring rights to the flag so that the community could use it for free.

The new design replaced the original 1995 flag created by Jim Evans. This former flag featured blue, red, and black stripes with the Greek letter pi in gold. While this flag was recognized for decades, criticism of the design's oversaturated colors, and the use of black to represent closeted relationships lead to to the Polyamproud contest to establish a new unifying symbol.
